About Fort Wayne Pride Bands
Fort Wayne Pride Bands are Indiana’s second LGBTQ+ instrumental ensembles, and a part of Fort Wayne Pride. We are open to all instruments and all skill levels, with NO audition.
The Fort Wayne Pride Bands are Ft Wayne, IN-based instrumental ensembles that will adapt to instrumentation. Street Band (rock band with horns) started rehearsing February 2024 and premiered at Fort Wayne Pride 2024. We rehearse at the Ft Wayne Pride Center (527 W Berry St, Ft Wayne). We will launch other bands (Concert Band, Jazz Band, etc) once we have member interest and resources. Our artistic directors have been associated with the Purdue University Fort Wayne School of Music and Pride of Indy Bands, Indiana’s first LGBTQ+ instrumental ensembles.
Fort Wayne Pride Bands are open to all adult (18+) LGBTQ+ persons and allies. Our chief core value is inclusion, so we will do everything in our power to make band participation free for all members.
Fort Wayne Pride Bands is an unpaid group (members and staff). All proceeds go to support Fort Wayne Pride.
Mission Statement
Fort Wayne Pride Bands (FWPBs) supports, inspires, and entertains local and surrounding communities, while intentionally providing a safe, creative and inclusive space for all LGBTQIA+ persons and their allies.
